Amsterdam

Thursday

• Woke up at 330 to catch our flight to Amsterdam 
• Got to Amsterdam and checked into our hostel w three other guys
• Went on a beautiful bike tour of the city 
• After the bike tour went to the grocery store 
• Went on the red light district tour which was awesome 
• Went back to our room and drank wine and then went out

Friday 

• Woke up and wet to the Anne frank house
• Came back and started our way to the Van Gogh museum 
• Took pics at the Amsterdam sign 
• Walked back and Claire didn't have a wallet
• Had to go all the way back and couldn't find it 
• Came back to the hostel and hung out for a bit 
• Went out to din and then met up w friends  

Saturday

• Woke up and got breakfast
• Checked out of the hostel and went to te airport
• After the flight we landed in Pisa and went to the leaning tower 

Prague and Berlin

Sunday

• Got to Prague checked into our hostel and got ready to go out 
• Stopped and got a quick pizza 
• Went on the pub crawl to four different bars 

Monday

• Got up and went to the market in Prague and walked around 
• Did a castle tour that took up all afternoon 
• Got a Czech dinner and then went back to our hostle 

Tuesday 

• Woke up and showered and walked around to the famous coffee shop in Prague 
• Came back went to Starbucks to get wifi and then had to catch a bus to Berlin 
• Got to Berlin around 830 and our hostel about 10
• Weird check in hostel
• Went out to where the night life was saw the matrix club 
• Went to a little bar and got a beer and burger by that time it was 1230 and the train station stopped running so we had to get a bus back 

Wednesday

• Got up at 830 and started our day in Berlin 
• Got Dunkin 
• Went to those gates and saw holocaust memorial 
• East side gallery of Berlin Wall 
• Got currywurst so good
• Came back and went to the upper west side which was the best part about Berlin so many shops and ppl everywhere it was actually pretty 
• Went back to the hostel to check out 
• Got on train to airport --40 euros wrong ticket 

Budapest

Quick Summary of our Fall Break-- First Stop was Budapest! One of my favorites

October 17-26

Thursday

• Left for Pisa 
• Got to our hostel around nine went to bed and woke up at 4 for Budapest 
• Got to the airport and it was closed! Had to wait an hr before it opened 

Friday

• Got to Budapest at 8 and checked into hostel goodmo -awesome hostel room for ten but we only had six. The three other girls were from NYU and studying abroad in Prague. 
• Went on a free walking your but stopped an hour later because we found Starbucks and it was the best tasting cappuccino ever 
• After we walked across the river and explored the giant building and castles 
• Then got lunch at a place called burrito
• Went back to our hostel and took a nap 
• Went to the store and got wine and cheese and say out at the rooftop bar and met a bunch of ppl to go to the third bar in the country for the night 

Saturday

• Walked around and walked up to the Statue of Liberty 
• Did the caves 
• Walked down and saw the best foliage it was absolutely breathtaking 
• Walked across the river and stopped at Starbucks again and then went on a walk which we didn't know would be an hour long to the baths
• Once we got there we got hot dogs and saw a huge castle and the baths 
• Came back napped 
• Got Chinese food for dinner and walke around the river and saw parliament 

Sunday 

• Woke up and went to the bus station and caught the bus at 930-5 to Prague 

Florence for the Week

Florence

Tuesday October 8-Saturday October 12

-My parents and I got to check off everything on my list I had planned to do with them except climb the Duomo.

Tuesday 

-We went and visited the David and then went to the San Lorenzo Market. For dinner we at got appertivo at the Westin Hotel overlooking the entire city.

Wednesday 

-We went across the river and climbed to Piazza Michelangelo and the church. Then went to the Boboli Gardens behind the Pity Palace. Then got pizza at GUSTA!

- I had class at three but that night my parents took my roommates and I out for dinner.

Thursday

-          I had class until 11:30 so after we went to my favorite Panini place and walked around the city and did  some shopping. Mom got a leather coat and we also got some nice new makeup! We walked and saw the Ponte Vecchio and Mom bargained with the street vendors to get three prints for 15 euro! Good job mom :)

Friday

-       We went to Montepulchiano and had a wine tasting.

Saturday

-We went to the market in the morning and the Diner for brunch.

Venice

Venice 

Monday October 7, 2013

-We woke up and it was raining again but it didn’t stop us from going to Venice for the day.

-It took us some time to figure out how the train ticket worked but we got it eventually.

-Once we stepped out of the train station we were in Venice and the canal was right in front of us.

-It was really cool see it because it was not what I was expecting with the size and all of the designer shops around every corner.

-We walked an hour trying to get to where our boat tour was but had to stand on platforms because the water was so high. It was flooding the city.

-The tourists came from every angle—23 million tourists go to Venice each year.

-We stopped in a restaurant and got sandwiches before the boat tour.

-On the boat tour we went through the grand canal and got to see the city.

-Then we took a bus back to the train station.

-It was really fun and I am so happy I got to see Venice. I liked it a lot!

Cinque Terre

October 4-6, 2013

Friday

-I rode the European railways all by myself and made it from Florence to Cinque Terre in about three hours. 

-Started walking through the train station and saw my dad immediately!

-We got a cab ride up through the tiny narrow streets to Porto Roca Hotel, where you are only supposed to have two guests...not three. (oops)

-Our view from the room was unbelievable but the room itself was a little tight!

-That night we walked down the hill, got a glass of wine at a little bar and went to Pozzo for dinner. All day we had been waiting for the rain and eventually it started to come.

-Friday night it DOWNPOURED and the wind was blowing...Dad got a little wet since he slept on the concrete floor with one blanket near the window. lol 

Satuday

-Hearing that throughout the night, I thought for sure our day on Saturday was going to be a wash out. Surprisingly we woke up and the sun was trying to make its way out! 

-We got breakfast at the hotel and started our way on the hike.

-None of us had any expectations of the hike other than that it couldn't be too bad. 

-Well we were soon sadly mistaken. The hike from Monterosso to Vernazza took an hour an half of some pretty steep hiking.

- From then on we took the train from Vernazza to Corniglia, Corniglia to Manarola and Manarola to Riomaggiore.

- We got back to Monterosso around four and went into the town a little to explore, we got drinks at a bar overlooking the water and cheese and Cinque Terre wine at a local grocery store to bring back to the room. 

-That night we went to a really cool restaurant that had some awesome pesto sauce.

Sunday

-Made our way back to Florence!!!!

-Hung out for a bit and then went out to a really nice dinner with Terese, Dan, Katie, and Kevin.

Oktoberfest

September 26-29

Oktoberfest! I am pretty behind on my blog so pictures will have to do for now.

Friday

-After an 8 hour car ride throughout the night we arrived at the stoke travel campsite at 9 a.m. Greeted with a beer, we waited in line to check in and got a delicious breakfast.....cold hot dogs, scrambled eggs, white bread, and goop. 

- At around 12 we headed out of the campsite to the Oktoberfest Festival. We walked right into the Haufbrau tent no problem! Got a table and started drinking our steins.

-At 3:30--I met mom, dad, Terese, and Dan outside the tent and we got a table outside under the heaters. Immediately we ordered more beers and big pretzels. We sat and drank for hours! Finally around 8 we made it into the tent where Sweet Caroline played and we had a great time the rest of the night.

-Devyn and I got a little lost on the way back but we made it to the campsite and fell asleep at around 11!

Saturday

-We had every intention of waking up early and getting to the festival on the biggest day of the year but that did not happen. 

-We stopped for a big breakfast at an Ikea like store and sat there for a long time because it was so warm and we did not feel like drinking yet. 

-I met my parents at 1 and we walked around the entire festival. 

- Dad, Devyn, and I went on a ride which was awesome. It had such high views you could see the entire city.

-Haleigh, Devyn and I then pushed our way through the Hofbrau tent for an hour trying to get in on Saturday afternoon.

-We met kids studying abroad in Barcelona from Bentley. One kid was from Coutuit,

-We stuck our way into the tent at night by making friends with the waitresses and going under the rope. They took us through the back kitchen and we were in!

-I met so many different people from all over the world it was so cool.

Sunday

-We woke up and gathered our stuff together to head to starbucks for some American coffee. I met up with my parents and went to the Old Town which was really pretty.
